Feedback from the BUZZ pilot was incredibly positive. The programme was trailed in six schools around New Zealand in 2021. Pilot schools reported improvements in students’ knowledge and use of phonics, an increase in their confidence and motivation as well as observing students transferring the knowledge to their reading and writing in the classroom.
