Primary Phonics
In this course you will learn how to teach phonological awareness, the letters and sounds of the alphabet, blending and segmentation, digraphs, trigraphs and long vowel phonemes and graphemes.
The course covers:

• a scope and sequence for the seven stages of phonics
• lesson plans for each stage

The course includes the 80-page Primary Education Phonics training manual with a scope and sequence for teaching, full lesson plans, assessments and QR codes for videoed lessons. Price includes GST.
Training course outline
Session 1
Early stages of phonics: sound discrimination, learning the first phonemes (a-z) and how to hear, read and write the first and last sound in any word.
Session 2
Blending and segmenting in reading and writing so that children can hear, read and write all sounds in a word.
Target group
Our Primary Phonics course is aimed at teachers and teacher aides working with children age 5-7, but is also invaluable for anyone working further up the school with any child challenged by spelling in writing and decoding in reading.
